Premium playtest cards for people who love the game — and their real collection too much to risk it.

Karbon started at a kitchen table, mid-game, staring at a $400 card we didn't want to shuffle into a casual deck. The proxies we could find were either flimsy paper or glossy nonsense that fanned out of a stack the second you picked it up. So we set out to make the version we actually wanted: a proxy with the snap, weight, and finish of the genuine article — clearly marked as a proxy, and honestly priced.

The core is the whole point.

Real cards feel the way they do because of what's inside them: an opaque black core that gives the card its snap and stops light from passing through. Skip it and you get a limp, backlit card that never sleeves right. We don't skip it. Every Karbon card is printed on 330gsm German black-core stock, linen-laminated for the authentic cross-hatch finish, and die-cut to a true 63×88mm with 3mm rounded corners — so it shuffles and sleeves alongside your real cards without standing out by feel or thickness.

Where we stand.

Karbon exists for casual and playtest use — kitchen-table Commander, testing a brew before you buy in, keeping a beloved deck together without carrying its full value around. Our cards are clearly marked as proxies. They're not tournament-legal, and we don't make cards intended to deceive anyone or to be sold as authentic product.

We're an independent maker and we're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Wizards of the Coast or Hasbro. "Magic: The Gathering" and its card names are their trademarks; original and custom artwork remains the property of its creators. We respect those lines, and we ask our customers to as well.
